I got a blog award!

I won two blog awards, actually. One from Manga Dork and another one from Dibsy.

The rules are:

1. The winner can put the logo on her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links to those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs you've nominated.

Here are the seven people I am nominating for this award:

Helene - My mother. She has helped me out quite a bit with this blog by helping me set it up and helping me advertise all of my new posts. Her blogs are about health care and working at home.

Manga Dork - The first person to nominate me for this. She has also commented on my blog a few times. Her blog has cool posts about manga, tv shows, her everyday life, and many other things. She posts great pictures too.

Dibsy - The second person to nominate me for this award. She has commented on my blog many times. Has several different blogs about anime, her daily life, creative stories, and the list goes on! She is also a very friendly person who goes out of her way to befriend other bloggers as well.

Bright Sponge - Commented on my blog recently. Haven't really talked to her that much but she seems like a cool person.

.Sienna. - Commented a few posts back. She also seems really cool and she has amazing pictures on her blog!

Karin Collins - She is a jewelry designer and she makes incredibly unique handcrafted pendant necklaces from spoons. She sells her pendants at an online shop called SpoonFed Art. You should definitely check out her blog and shop because her designs are really cool!

Poster Girl - She writes a fashion blog too. I haven't talked to her yet but I really enjoy reading her blog. She writes about the latest trends as well as many other aspects of fashion.

Yes, I realize this is off the topic of fashion. However, I felt like I should participate in this. I will be back with more finds on other trends fairly soon though, so don't worry!

Be Glad For The Summer

In celebration of my new job at Sears' shoe department, I've decided to post about one of the hottest shoe trends this summer: The Gladiator Sandal! This style of shoe has been all over the runways, in fashion magazines everywhere, and in television and movies. This, of course, includes the ever-popular Sex and The City movie that is still playing in theaters (great movie, by the way!). Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) wears a $770 pair of gladiator shoes by Dior throughout the movie. However, most of us living in the real world can't afford the Dior shoes. So, I decided to feature some cheaper alternatives below.

AE Gladiator Sandal, $29.95, available in sizes 8-10,

Gabirelle Strappy Gold & Silver Sandal, $19.99, available in sizes 5-11,

Nicole Diamante Sandal, $19.99, shown in strawberry; also available in turquiose, sizes 5-10 (strawberry not available in 5 and 9),

Sonya Bejeweled Sandal, $24.99, shown in bronze; also available in saddle brown, sizes 5-10,

Adelaide, $25.95, shown in blue; also available in black, gold, pink, silver, and white, available in sizes 5-11,

Charles Albert Shoes Gladiator in gold, $16.99, available in sizes 6-9.5,

Charles Albert Shoes Gladiator in white, $16.99, available in sizes 6-10,

SO Chellie Gladiator Slides, $19.99, shown in white; also available in black and brown, sizes 6-11,

Contrast Metallic Gladiator, $19.99, shown in red; also available in black, navy, and white, sizes 6-10 (red and navy only available in 9, black only available in 8 and 9),

Buckle Gladiator Sandal, $19.50, shown in yellow; also available in fuschia and black, sizes 5.5-7.5 (5.5, 6.5, and 7.5 not available in yellow),

Gladiator Sandal, $10.00, shown in gold; also available in bronze and pewter, sizes 5.5-10,

Lace Up Gladiator Sandal, $10.00, shown in silver; also available in gold, sizes 6-10,

Wedge Gladiator Sandal,$10.00, shown in brown; also available in black, sizes 5.5- 8 (brown only available in 8),

I hope you are glad (no pun intended!) to see this extremely popular shoe style offered at more reasonable prices than the Dior shoes. If there are any more popular trends that you just can't seem to find at an affordable price, let me know. E-mail me at or send me a message on myspace. I will try to find the trend you want at a price that won't be too hard on your wallet.
